Do you need to do anything?

In Czechia the status does not roll over automatically. Two steps are required: online registration on ipc.gov.cz with an appointment booking, then an in-person visit to a Ministry of the Interior (OAMP) office for a new visa sticker; only the visit extends protection to 31 March 2028. As of 3 September 2026 the Ministry has not yet published the 2027 registration dates — it says they will be released on the portal in due course (in 2026 the window ran 8 January to 15 March). Where: Step 1 — online: Informační portál pro cizince (ipc.gov.cz), section «Prodloužení», registration with an appointment booking. Step 2 — in person: an OAMP office of the Czech Ministry of the Interior (Department for Asylum and Migration Policy) to have the visa sticker placed in your passport. The in-person visit is mandatory; bedridden people may act through an authorised person, but online registration is still required. Important: The dates for 2027 have NOT been announced yet — do not turn up "by analogy". The Czech national deadline is 31.03.2027 (later than the EU-wide 04.03.2027), and the extension will run to 31.03.2028. If you do not register within the allotted window, protection lapses by itself once the term expires: last year the Ministry said so directly — «Pokud jste se neregistrovali k prodloužení dočasné ochrany do 15. 3. 2026, vaše dočasná ochrana uplynutím 31. 3. 2026 zanikla». A new application after that is assessed under NEW, stricter conditions: since 05.08.2026, men aged 18–60 with military obligations must prove full removal from the military register (eVOD in paper form + Reserv+), otherwise protection will not be granted.
