Applications are filed exclusively online via the Asylum Service portal; appointments at 6 regional offices. Renewal is automatic — no need to replace the card.
On entering Greece, obtain a certificate with your entry date from the border authorities — it may be requested when your application is processed. The temporary protection application is filed EXCLUSIVELY online via the asylum.migration.gov.gr portal (only an e-mail address is needed for the one-time code). With a biometric passport entry is visa-free (90 days); with a non-biometric passport a transit visa is required, and without documents entry is only possible via the Promahonas border crossing. The extension until 04.03.2027 is automatic — but carry a copy of the Official Journal with the current ministerial decision.
