Hungary: temporary protection cards are valid until 4 March 2028 even if they show another date

WHAT CHANGED The extension to 4 March 2028 applies in Hungary. Cards remain valid until that date even if an earlier expiry is printed on them. WHO IS AFFECTED Everyone holding Hungarian temporary protection. Eligibility is unchanged: whoever qualified before still qualifies, including military-aged men. WHAT TO DO Nothing. You do not need to replace the card. If an employer, hospital or school questions it, show them Government Decree 196/2025 of 8 July, Section 2 (4), as amended by Government Decree 145/2026.
