Moldova is not in the EU: temporary protection is granted by government decision and currently runs until 01.03.2027. Apply online at protectietemporara.gov.md (a Moldovan phone number is required), then visit the IGM in person with your WHOLE family. From 2026, renewal is ONLY via an online request in the 1 February – 30 April window; those who miss it must reapply under the standard procedure. Moldova is a transit country; many Ukrainians are here temporarily, so keep records of your border crossings.
