From 08.04.2026 a second UPE extension of +24 months is available (up to 3.5 years in total); apply within 90 days before expiry, free of charge. IMPORTANT: this is NOT the EU directive. A VISA is required before entry. Homes for Ukraine (sponsor) and Ukraine Family Scheme (relative) are closed to new applicants. For those already in the UK — Ukraine Permission Extension (UPE) extends status for 3 more years. The visa grants work, benefits, healthcare (NHS).
