Czechia: get the visa sticker in person by 30 September

The online registration most people completed in spring extended temporary protection in Czechia only until 30 September 2026. For it to run until 31 March 2027 a second step is required: appear in person at a Ministry of the Interior office and get a new visa sticker in your passport. What the official source says (ipc.gov.cz): "Online registrací se vám dočasná ochrana prodlouží pouze do 30. 9. 2026. Až tímto krokem se vaše dočasná ochrana prodlouží do 31. 3. 2027." If you do not come by 30.09.2026: • temporary protection ends; • humanitarian assistance stops; • free access to the labour market stops; • the status has to be applied for again under current conditions, without the time-limited benefits already used. What to do now: 1. Take your passport and the proof of the previous extension. 2. Check your office's opening hours — September queues are long. 3. Come in person before 30 September 2026 and get the sticker. This is separate from the EU Council decision extending protection to 04.03.2028: that decision is adopted but applies from 05.03.2027. The Czech deadline is a national procedure with its own date.
